Jenny Erkenbrack

If a dog had a motto, Jenny Erkenbrack’s would be “will work for food.” She’s always loved her neighbor down the street and up the hill – a kind man who gave out treats to the dogs that came his way. But as the symptoms from arthritis and Cushings disease began to cause weakness and slow her down, Jenny didn’t have the strength to take the quarter of a mile journey to his house. Her owner, Susan, sought treatment with internal medicine specialist Derek Duval, VMD, ACVIM and integrative medicine specialist Susan Wynn, DVM at GVS. The two doctors developed a treatment plan that included medication and acupuncture. Just a short period into treatment, Jenny surprised her owner by leaving the front yard and starting running down the street. “I couldn’t believe it,” said Susan. “She continued up the hill until she saw the guy in his driveway.” Jenny then turned to her as if to say, “I did it! I can still run! Give me some treats!”
